                                2019 POST-ICIS KrAISRESEARCH WORKSHOP

Munich, Germany – December 18,2019 

 

Immediately following the 2019International Conference of Information Systems (ICIS) to be held in Munich,Germany, the Korean Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (KrAIS)will hold its ninth annual Post-ICIS KrAIS Research Workshop (henceforth, “theWorkshop”) on Wednesday, December 18, 2019. We cordially invite you to submityour papers to the workshop.  

 

This year we organize two parallelsessions: round table session (RTS) and paper development session (PDS). RTSinvites original research work on a broad range of topics related toinformation systems that are neither published nor submitted elsewhere includingICIS2018 and associated workshops. PDS invites high quality papers with strongpotential for publication in the top IS journals (e.g., Information SystemsResearch, MIS Quarterly). Authors will be given the opportunity to discusstheir papers in depths with prominent senior scholars with publishing and/oreditorial experience at the top journals (e.g., former and current SE, AE andreviewers from ISR, MISQ). Papers published in other conference or workshopsare invited to PDS but not RTS. Doctoral students and junior faculty membersare especially encouraged to submit their research. Student-authored paperswill be given special consideration. The authorship of accepted paperscannot be changed once the camera ready versions are submitted.

Fast-Track Journal PublicationOpportunities:  

High quality papers from the workshopwill be invited for a possible fast-track publication in the Asia PacificJournal of Information Systems (APJIS), the flagship journal of the KoreanSociety of Management Information Systems (KMIS).   

  

Best Student Paper Award: 

In order to promote scholarship amongKorean doctoral students, KrAIS will offer best student paper awards.

 

Background: 

As a chapter of the Association forInformation Systems (AIS), KrAIS aims to promote the scholarship of AIS memberswith Korean heritage. Any Korean scholars and professionals – both domestic andabroad – who are interested in the development, management, and use ofinformation and communication technologies are encouraged toparticipate.  

 

The objective of the Workshop is toprovide a forum where its members can exchange ideas and information andpromote possible collaboration among its members. In particular, the Workshopfocuses on helping graduate students and junior faculty improve their researchand develop scholarship and careers through close interactions with andguidance from peers and senior faculty.  

 

Submission: 

Authors are asked tosubmit either completed research or research-in-progress paperscomplying with the 2019 KrAIS Workshop formatting requirements. All submissions must be in English. Page Limit Requirements: 

The two sessions (RTSand PDS) accept both completed research papers as well as research-in-progresspapers.   

 

·        Completed research papers must not exceedfourteen (14) single-spaced pages and must conform to the 2019 KrAIS Workshopsubmission template. The 14 pages must include all text, figures, tables, andappendices. The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references are excludedfrom this page count.  

·        Research-in-progress papers must notexceed seven (7) single-spaced pages and must conform to the 2019 KrAISWorkshop submission template. The 7 pages must include all text, figures,tables, and appendices. The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references areexcluded from this page count. 

 

(please note that the page limitsabove are not strictly applied to the papers submitted to PDS) 

 

Authors whoare interested in participating in the workshop need to submit papers by September 11, 2019 through the EasyChair conference management system (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=krais2019).Submissions will undergo a blind review process. The submissions site will openon June 19, 2019.  

 

Format of Workshop: 

In order to facilitate in-depthdiscussion and exchange of ideas, the Workshop will feature parallel sessionswhere five to six authors briefly present their research for about 10 minuteseach, followed by questions and discussions. Sessions will be organized basedon research interests and will be led by senior scholars who will serve asmentors. All participants are expected to have read all the papers for thetable prior to the workshop so that the discussion will focus on how to improvethe paper. All participants may choose to present or discuss in Korean orEnglish as most KrAIS members are bilingual.  

 

 

Time and Venue: 

The Workshop will be held from 1:00pmto 6:00pm on December 18, 2019 (Location: to be announced). Immediatelyfollowing the Workshop, KrAIS business meeting and dinner will be held from 7to 9 pm.
