2020 POST-ICIS KrAIS RESEARCH WORKSHOP Call for Papers (http://www.krais.org/notice/view.php?idx=2953&page=1&search=&find=) Seoul, Korea – December 17, 2020 Due to the unprecedented circumstances with COVID-19, the Korean Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (KrAIS) will hold its eleventh annual Post-ICIS KrAIS Research Workshop (henceforth, “the Workshop”) on Thursday,December 17, 2020, in Seoul, Korea, one day after the 2020 International Conference of Information Systems (ICIS). We cordially invite you to submit your papers to the Workshop. Please note that the format of program delivery will be in person, virtual, or as a hybrid model, depending on the public health directives and official travel advisory from the government of Korea. The workshop will be held together with the 2020 Fall Conference of KMIS (The Korea Society of Management Information System), which will be held in December 2020. Therefore, this year you can submit your paper in English to the KrAIS Workshop or in Korean to the Fall KMIS Conference. This year we organize two parallel sessions: round table session (RTS) and paper development session (PDS). RTS invites original research work on a broad range of topics related to information systems that are neither published nor submitted elsewhere including ICIS 2020 and associated workshops. PDS invites high quality papers with strong potential for publication in the top IS journals (e.g., Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly). Authors will be given the opportunity to discuss their papers in depths with prominent senior scholars with publishing and/or editorial experience at the top journals (e.g., former and current SE, AE and reviewers from ISR, MISQ). Papers published in other conference or workshops are invited to PDS but not RTS. Doctoral students and junior faculty members are especially encouraged to submit their research. Student-authored papers will be given special consideration. The authorship of accepted papers cannot be changed once the camera ready versions are submitted. Important Dates: Submission System Open: Thursday, June 24, 2020 Submission Deadline: Thursday, August 27, 2020 (Timezone: Korea) Notification of Acceptance: Thursday, October 8, 2020 Camera Ready Version deadline: Thursday,November 5, 2020 Workshop: Thursday, December 17, 2020 Fast-Track Journal Publication Opportunities: High quality papers from the workshop will be invited fora possible fast-track publication in the Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems (APJIS), the flagship journal of the Korean Society of Management Information Systems (KMIS). Best Student Paper Award: In order to promote scholarship among Korean doctoral students, KrAIS will offer the best student paper awards with either scholarship or gifts. Background: As a chapter of the Association for Information Systems(AIS), KrAIS aims to promote the scholarship of AIS members with Korean heritage. Any Korean scholars and professionals – both domestic and abroad –who are interested in the development, management, and use of information and communication technologies are encouraged to participate. The objective of the Workshop is to provide a forum where its members can exchange ideas and information and promote possible collaboration among its members. In particular, the Workshop focuses on helping graduate students and junior faculty improve their research and develop scholarship and careers through close interactions with and guidance from peers and senior faculty. Submission: Authors are asked to submit either completed research or research-in-progress papers complying with the 2020 KrAIS Workshop formatting requirements. All submissions must be in English. Page Limit Requirements: The two sessions (RTS and PDS) accept both completed research papers as well as research-in-progress papers. · Completed research papers must not exceed fourteen (14)single-spaced pages and must conform to the 2020 KrAIS Workshop submission template. The 14 pages must include all text, figures, tables, and appendices.The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references are excluded from this page count. · Research-in-progress papers must not exceed seven (7)single-spaced pages and must conform to the 2020 KrAIS Workshop submission template. The 7 pages must include all text, figures, tables, and appendices.The cover page, abstract, keywords, and references are excluded from this page count.
(please note that the page limits above are not strictly applied to the papers submitted to PDS) Authors who are interested in presenting in the workshop need to submit papers by August 27, 2020 through the EasyChair system (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=krais2020). Submissions will undergo a blind review process. The submissions site will open on June 24, 2020.
While the Workshop welcomes papers on any topics in thefield of Management Information Systems, this year we encourage authors tosubmit papers on the topics related to the role of IS during the pandemicperiod and for “the post-COVID New-Normal”. Format of Workshop: In order to facilitate in-depth discussion and exchange of ideas, the Workshop will feature parallel sessions where five to six authors briefly present their research for about 10 minutes each, followed by questions and discussions. Sessions will be organized based on research interests and will be led by senior scholars who will serve as mentors. All participants are expected to have read all the papers for the table prior tothe workshop so that the discussion will focus on how to improve the paper. All participants may choose to present or discuss in Korean or English as most KrAIS members are bilingual. Time and Venue: The Workshop will be held on December 17, 2020 (Exact time and location will be announced later). The venue of the 2020 KrAIS will follow that of the 2020 Fall Conference of KMIS (The Korea Society of Management Information System), which will be held in December 2020, whether in person, virtually, or as a hybrid model. Immediately following the Workshop, KrAIS business meeting and dinner will be held in the evening of December 17, 2020.
