- 지역 중소기업의 스케일업(Scale-up)을 위한 성공요인에 대한 연구 : Triple Helix 모형을 중심으로 -
4차 산업혁명시대, 경제발전 및 일자리 창출을 위한 방안으로 스타트업(Start up)도 중요하지만, 직접적 성과를 달성하기 위해서는 기존 기업 의 스케일업(Scale-up) 의 중요성이 지적되고 있으며, 관련된 정책들이 수립/실행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 지역 중소기업들의 스케일업을 위한 요인을 도출하기 위하여 기업혁신생태계 요소인 트리플 헬릭스의 영향요인과 기업가지향성의 조절효과에 초점을 두고 이를 검증하고자 하였 다. 이에 따라 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 3개의 가설을 수립하였으며, 지역 내 소재하는 제조업기반의 중소기업 164곳을 대상으로 회귀 분석을 이용한 실증분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 기존 연구결과에서 그 영향력이 두드러지게 확인된 기업가지향성의 영향력 보다 환경적 요소 인 트리플 헬릭스가 기업의 성장에 더욱 큰 영향을 미침을 확인하였다. 그리고 기업가지향성의 조절효과 검증 결과, 기업가지향성이 높은 기업 이 기업 생태적 요소와의 상호교류 및 협력을 통해 더 큰 혁신성과를 이루어냄을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 주요 시사점은 기존 연구에서 중시되었던 기업의 자체적 특성도 중요하지만, 오늘날과 같이 기업 상황이 급변하고 혁신이 곧 기업 의 성장을 결정짓는 지금의 상황 속에서 기업이 지속적인 혁신과 성장을 위해서는 기업을 둘러싼 생태계적 요소의 교류와 협력이 매우 중요한 요인임을 인식할 수 있다는 점이다. 또한 정부 보다는 대학과의 산학협력을 통해 신기술/신제품 개발은 기업성장의 마중물이 될 수 있음을 시사 하고 있다.
The Key Success Factors for Scale-Up in the Local SMEs : Focused on the Triple Helix Model
Since the start of the 4th industrial revolution, Start-up as a useful way to create job openings and increase economic growth, but the importance of scale-up has been getting more attention in recent years. It allows for achieving high performance, and more polices related to scale-up are established and implemented. This research aims to reveal the key factors that enable to scale-up local small and medium-sized firms (SMEs) by investigating the effects of the triple helix and entrepreneurial orientation (EO). The hypotheses are developed and tested to fulfill our purposes and data is collected from164 SME manufacturers in South Korea. Results showthat triple helix has stronger influence on firm growth than EO. We also find that EO has a significant moderating effect. It enhances innovation performance through reciprocal exchange and cooperationwith ecological factors at a high level of EO. This research indicates that a firm’s predisposition is important in itself, but the more important fact is that firms should recognize that exchanging and cooperation with their surrounding ecological factors are crucial factors for sustaining innovation and growth under rapid and competitive market conditions. In addition, this research implies that new technology and new product development through industry-academic cooperation can act as priming water for a firm’s rapid growth instead of government support for the industry.
