- 지속가능성 관리통제시스템이 지속가능성 성과에 미치는 영향 -
지속가능성 측면에서 최근 기업은 경제적 이익뿐만 아니라, 환경적 그리고 사회적 성과를 개선시켜야 장기적으로 경쟁우위를 창출할 수 있 을 것이다. 이에 본 연구는 최근 중요한 주재인 지속가능성과 관련하여 SMCS의 구축 및 이용과 이를 통해 지속가능 성과의 개선에 초점을 두 어 이들 간의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하는 연구를 수행하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 신념시스템은 환경적 성과와 사회적 성과에 유의한 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 경계시스템은 사회적 성과에만 유의한 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 진단적 통제는 환경적 성과와 사회적 성과에 유의한 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것 으로 나타났다. 넷째, 상호작용적 통제는 지속가능성 성과에 모두 유의적인 영향이 나타나지 않았다. 마지막으로 SMCS는 모두 지속가능성 성 과 중 경제적 성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치지 못하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구 결과를 종합해보면, 기업은 환경적 성과와 사회적 성과를 개선시키기 위해서는 신념시스템, 경계시스템 그리고 진단적 통제의 이용을 높여야 할 것이다. 따라서 기업 및 경영자는 지속가능성 이슈를 해 결하고 궁극적으로 지속가능성 성과를 개선시키기 위해서는 SMCS의 구축 및 이용에 많은 관심을 두어야 할 것이다. 또한 SMCS의 하나의 시 스템만의 이용이 아닌, 신념시스템, 경계시스템, 그리고 진단적 통제의 이용을 모두 높게 이용해야 지속가능성 성과를 더 개선시킬 수 있을 것이다.
The Effects of Sustainability Management Control Systems on Sustainability Performance
Recently, companies will be able to create a competitive advantage in the long term only when they improve not only economic benefits but also environmental and social performance in terms of sustainability. Therefore, this study conducted a study to empirically analyze the relationship between them, focusing on the establishment and use of SMCS and the improvement of sustainability performance through it, which has recently become an issue. As a result of the study, first, it was found that the belief system had a significant positive (+) effect on environmental and social performance. Second, the boundary system was found to have a significant positive (+) effect only on social performance. Third, diagnostic control was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on environmental and social performance. Fourth, interactive control did not show any significant effect on both sustainability performance. Finally, it was found that none of the SMCSs had a significant effect on economic performance among sustainability performances. In summary, companies will need to increase the use of belief systems, boundary systems, and diagnostic controls to improve environmental and social performance. Therefore, companies and managers should pay much attention to the establishment and use of SMCS in order to solve sustainability issues and ultimately improve sustainability performance. In addition, sustainability performance can be further improved only when the use of belief systems, boundary systems, and diagnostic controls is all highly utilized, not just the use of a single system of SMCS.
